There are so many free online "tv" or movie services nowadays. And these really do look good on my big tv screen. Check out the following:
hulu.com
joost.com
titantv.com
ustream.tv - okay.. a friend told me about this and I haven't look at it yet...
fancast.com
On Hulu, you can watch movies and tv shows. They actually have some good movie selections and they are definitely growing. The movies are streamed, free and are interrupted with loud commercials every so often, but really they aren't too bad. I watched The Skulls on it and thought the image was pretty good.
Joost allows you to watch videos on an application that you download. They claim they have over 20,000 shows. They were showing some live NCAA games over the weekend, so I tried to give them a try, but I kept getting a "signal failed; please wait" message and finely gave up. I then watched the games live, without any problems on sportsline.com. They have Transformers and GI Joe, so they can't be bad. They do have a Soccer Channel, but it doesn't really show live games... Just shows classic goals, biography of classic stars, such as Maredona. Actually, here's a link to Joost's soccer channel: http://joost.com/0590003. It's pretty cool, but I can't get rid of Fox Soccer Channel just yet. Heck, I'm debating about getting Manchester United's package to watch games online. :-)
I haven't actually looked into TitanTv yet. I use them to get my tv listings, and I previously used them to set up recordings from my cable box to my computer. But the fact that they now show videos is new in the last few months. It looks like they have 3 channels: Titan Green, Titan Laughs and Titan Showbiz. Here's a description of Titan Green:
Need proof that environmentalists have a sense of humor?Well, look no further. The evidence is right here. However, to make an impact, we need knowledge AND action. But why can’t we have a little fun too? That’s where TitanGreens.com comes in. With videos, news, blogs, and all sorts of online antics, Titan Greens informs and entertains. If only saving the planet were this easy...or this funny.
From TitanTv, there is a link to egotvonline.com. Their site says:
Relaunching Soon... See our shows on MySpace, YouTube, Veoh.com, Brightcove, Titan TV, Revver, VidShadow, Joost, and others.
So.. that is interesting...
Well, happy viewing... Let me know if there are some good video sites that I should check out..
Thanks
oh.. and I'm sure this really isn't the "future" as movies do look much better on the Blue-Ray. Well, not the near future I should say..
fancast.com - I just found this site.. right after I posted this blog.. I'm not sure if I really understand it though. I see they have '28 Days', but when I tried to watch it, I see that the bottom right shows 'Hulu', so apparently they are getting it from Hulu. But when I searched for The Skulls, which I watched on Hulu, it didn't come up on fancast.com.. So..I'm still looking into it..
