First Post

Hello Everyone..

I've finally found time to start a blog. I can tell everyone is excited. I have a couple of projects that I'm currently working on. One is a football pool website that I've developed and supported the last couple of years. I redesigned the site prior to this season, and I think it worked well. Ideally I'd like to rewrite it again and develop it using VB.NET, but I don't have the time to really learn .NET at this time. But now that the football season is over (in regards to the site), I can concentrate on fixing some bugs and adding some improvements.

My second project is a family website. The family has been using MyFamily.com for the last couple of years and finally I got tired of paying someone else for something I could do myself. Plus, I really do have a lot of space available on my ersdev account, so I'm sharing my hosting with my ERSDev site and my MyMcDonough site. And I really need to add a lot more to the MyMcDonough site. So that is what I'll spend most of my time on, when I'm not actually working to earn a paycheck.

Besides that, I'm recovering from the horrible OSU loss. I'm not sure what to think... it wasn't really too bad a game. If 3 plays went the other way, it would've been much different. The 3 plays: the dropped catch in the end zone, the running into the kicker, and the interception that was at one time in both the receiver and defenders hands. I'm sure there are more, but the Buckeyes definitely had a chance in this game, and I'm sad to see another loss. After living in Michigan the last 10 years, I've been back in Ohio since December 2006 and I've been expecting to do some NCAA Championship celebrations, and sadly that hasn't happened yet. But next year is our year!

Thanks for reading.... Until next time..Eric

Thanks Brian. I was going to completely redo my site, but figured it was just easier at the moment to do the blog thing. We'll see how it works. :-)

Hey Eric, looks nice. I am taking an ASP.NET class right now. I am using VB.NET for my code behind. It's actually not all that hard once you get the hang of it. Like you said though it's having the time to learn. Ok hope all is well?

Besides that, I'm good. Still rehabbing my leg due to an ACL tear, but its going well. I should be able to play soccer again in 4 months.. :-)

BTW, we really need to get together sometime. I'll shoot you an email on myspace to see your schedule..
